A regular serviceman died in Brunei while performing maintenance work at a helicopter evacuation site. He was hit by a falling tree branch.
In a statement released by MINDEF, resuscitation efforts were performed to the Third Warrant Officer Muhammad Sadikin Hasban after he was knocked unconscious. He was then transported via helicopter and ambulance to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital. They arrived around 10am.
According to The Straits Times, the contractors were clearing vegetation at the evacuation site.
Arrangements have been made for 3WO Sadikin’s family members to be flown to Brunei. After which, his body will be flown back to Singapore in a military aircraft.
Sadikin died 33 years old.
