On 4 July 2018, a paper bag hanging on the side mirror of a car was an abandoned baby with her umbilical cord still attached.
The paper bag was spotted by a man at 12:15 am at Jalan Hospital in Ipoh that day.
The baby, still alive but is seen to be cold and hungry, is believed to have been forsaken in the plastic bag before 8.30pm on 3 July 2018.
Upon confirmation of the discovery of the baby, Ipoh deputy police chief Supt Abdul Rani Alias sent the baby to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.
This is the second case concerning an infant in recent days.
On the night of 3 July 2018, a five-month-old infant was found dead at the home of his babysitter in Batu Caves.
The boy, Adam Rayqal Mohd Sufi, was reported missing by his parents. His body was subsequently unearthed at the babysitter’s house in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator.
