Ministry of Health’s (MOH) HealthHub portal recently detected multiple unauthorised log-in attempts that affected 72 accounts.
A user reported suspicious activity on her email account had been used without her authorisation, the Health Promotion Board (HPB) and Integrated Health Information Systems (IHiS) released a statement on 18 October, saying they have been investigating cases of unusual log-ins.
Investigations show that the number of attempted log-in to HealthHub were higher than the average on 4 days, Sep 28, Oct 3, Oct 8 and Oct 9.
These attempts were made with over 27,000 unique IDs and emails but however, 98% of the log-ins were unsuccessful as the emails used were not related to a HealthHub account.
HPB said there’s no evidence of a breach in the HealthHub system has been found, it added.
In June 2018, the Singapore health system was hit by a targetted attack and about 1.5 million SingHealth patients’ records were accessed and copied out.
