A couple, a 46 year old man and his 37 year old wife, were arrested at Block 372 Jurong East Street 32 yesterday (April 10) during a Criminal Narcotics Bureau (CNB) raid.
A CNB spokesperson affirmed that the raid was conducted to apprehend the 46 year old male suspect.
Despite repeated requests from the authorities, the man barred access to his home, and brandished weapons with a threat to harm himself.
Facebook user, Fatimah Sainan, posted pictures of an inflatable rescue cushion that was put in place to catch the suspect, should he make the jump.
Moreover, a video was taken, filming the man sitting precariously on the ledge of the window of his home.
The suspect and his wife were eventually arrested and taken into custody.
The man and his wife will be charged for their drug-related offences, with additional charges of attempted suicide and possession of weapons against the former.
CNB investigations are ongoing and no further updates are available as yet.
Despite its stringent laws coupled with frequent raids by the authorities, Singapore is still a hotbed for drug-related offences.
