Malaysian priest dies from heart attack after getting ‘steamed’

A Malaysian priest died during a ‘steaming’ ritual at a temple in Perlis, Malaysia.

The incident occured on Monday (Oct 23) at 10:30pm. The 70-year-old was allegedly to have suffered from a heart attack during the ceremony.

He wanted to break the current record set at 75 minutes for him to be ‘steamed’ alive on a pile of boring coal.

He had been inside the covered wok for about 30 minutes with a fire underneath when devotees heard the knocks.

His assistants heard that the priest were slamming the metal container from inside.
