Famous football team, Arsenal, has finally landed on our shores to play two matches in Singapore as part of the International Champions Cup.
The full squad, which compromises of 25 players, arrived in Singapore on 24 July (Monday) from London and will be staying at the Shangri-la hotel. Despite the long trip, which started on Sunday, the players were seen signing autographs for lucky fans who had gathered outside their hotel. Many of those fans were spotted wearing Arsenal scarves, jerseys and other items.
The players who arrived were Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Hector Bellerin, Petr Cech (GK.), Calum Chambers, Mohamed Elneny, Matteo Guendouzi, Rob Holding, Alex Iwobi, Sead Kolasinac, Alexandre Lacazette, Bernd Leno (GK), Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Emiliano Martinez (GK), Konstantinos Mavropanos, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Shkodran Mustafi, Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah, Jordi Osei-Tutu, Mesut Ozil, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Perez, Aaron Ramsey, Emile Smith Rowe and Joe Willock.
The players in the travelling squad include three of Arsenal’s five new signings, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Matteo Guendouzi.
They have since played a game against Atlético de Madrid at the National Stadium on 26 July.
The team is then set to take Paris Saint-Germain on 28 July which will close the Singapore leg of the global footbal tournament.
